Products

Below are some common questions about our products

What is EVA foam boat flooring and why should I use it?

EVA foam boat flooring (also called foam decking for boats) is a synthetic marine-grade material made from ethylene-vinyl acetate foam.

It is durable, lightweight, and easy to clean. The specially textured surface provides excellent non-slip traction even when wet, making it much safer than smooth surfaces on a boat deck.

EVA foam also offers cushioning underfoot, which helps reduce fatigue on long days in the boat. Unlike carpet, EVA foam is non-absorbent and UV-resistant, so it won’t mold or fade easily.

In short, it’s a low-maintenance, high-performance marine flooring solution that enhances both safety and comfort onboard.

How durable is EVA foam boat flooring?

High-quality EVA foam boat flooring is very durable. It is designed to resist wear and tear, even under heavy foot traffic.

In fact, a good marine EVA foam floor can last 5–7 years with normal use and care.

Because the foam is UV- and chemical-resistant, it stands up well to sun exposure and saltwater environments. For longevity, simply clean it regularly with mild soap and water and avoid leaving sharp or heavy objects dragged across it. With proper care, your EVA boat deck flooring will maintain its appearance and non-slip properties for many seasons.

What colors, patterns, and thicknesses are available?

EVA boat flooring comes in a wide range of colors and styles. Common options include solid colors (black, gray, tan, etc.), as well as patterns like faux teak woodgrain, diamond plate, or camouflage designs.

This lets you match the flooring to your boat’s style or your personal taste. Typical flooring sheets are 94.5″×47.2″ and about 6 mm thick. (A 6 mm thickness provides a good blend of cushioning and durability.)

We also offer custom-cut boat flooring kits for many popular boat models – these kits come pre-cut in the right shapes for your deck so you don’t have to measure. Both our sheets and kits are made of the same marine-grade EVA foam, so they share the same non-slip, UV-resistant, and comfortable properties.

How do I install EVA foam boat flooring?

Installation is straightforward for anyone with basic DIY skills.

First, clean and dry your boat’s floor thoroughly.

Then measure your deck and cut the EVA foam sheets or kit pieces to fit, using a sharp utility knife or scissors. (Our pre-cut kits already match specific boat layouts, so minimal trimming is needed.)

Apply a marine-grade adhesive to the boat floor, then lay each foam piece in place and press firmly. Use a hand roller or flat board to apply even pressure over the entire surface.

Finally, allow the adhesive to cure fully before using the boat. No specialized tools or professional skills are required, so most owners install it themselves.

The result is a precise, seamless marine flooring that’s firmly bonded in place.

How do I clean and maintain EVA foam boat flooring?

Keeping EVA boat flooring clean is easy.

The material is non-absorbent, so mold and mildew are not a concern. Most dirt and spills simply wash off with soap and water. We recommend an occasional gentle scrub with a soft brush and marine-safe cleaner to remove any surface grime.

Because it doesn’t absorb moisture, once it’s dry the foam retains its texture and grip. In summary, routine cleaning with mild detergent and water is all that’s needed to maintain the non-slip surface and fresh appearance of your EVA boat deck.

Are EVA foam boat flooring products comfortable and safe?

Yes.

EVA foam feels soft underfoot (its cushioning quality helps reduce leg and foot fatigue). Its textured pattern provides excellent non-skid grip, even in wet conditions. Unlike hard surfaces, it is forgiving on bare feet and lessens noise and impact.

And because it is non-toxic and inert, EVA foam does not off-gas or degrade in a way that would harm you or your boat. In short, EVA foam marine flooring adds both safety and comfort compared to traditional hard or carpeted decks.
